“Miss no single opportunity of making some small sacrifice, here by a smiling look, there by a kindly word; always doing the smallest right and doing it all for love.”
― Thérèse de Lisieux
There are many spiritual and psychological reasons why we give:
- Giving obeys God’s command
- Giving exhibits God’s heart
- Giving makes us happier and healthier
- When you give, there is a physiological response. Your brain’s pleasure and reward centers light up as if you were the recipient of the gift, not the giver
More importantly, we give to be a role model for our children, our families and our friends, and to instill in them our faith. A faith that says, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” (Acts 20:35)
